Innovating Inchgreen’s Industrial Ecologies // Port Glasgow

Since 1980 Conservative governments have sold of the majority of British Ports to private equity companies, who in the case of Inchgreen Drydock, Scotland have failed to develop this land. Meanwhile, the global standard is for the state to maintain ownership - This has enabled other countries to invest in new ship-building capacity in line with growing demand and innovation.
Freight shipping is by far the most efficient means of transport, yet it still accounts for 2.1% of global C02. It is now time to redevelop our shipbuilding facilities to begin our transition to sustainable shipping.

This project proposes to reactivate the Clyde’s shipbuilding history to provide industrial jobs to Scotland and Innovative capacity to the UK shipbuilding enterprise.
