Peterhead Retrofit Hub // Aberdeen

Peterhead Retrofit Hub is a facility which advocates a sustainable approach to marine activities for vessels in the sea. Engines which burn fossil fuels could lead to increased carbon emissions across the ocean and hindering the progress of tackling climate change. Therefore, this scheme is aiming to retrofit vessels with eco-friendly fuel engines with revised design of other ship parts which would make them sailing efficiently in the sea with less fuel being consumed. But more than that, the facility also takes public awareness into account - by introducing learning centre and a ‘live’ museum, this would also offer the visitors an immersive experience with an understanding of the latest marine engineering in retrofitting.
