Invergorden Regenerative Community // Invergordon

In the background of Cromarty Firth region becoming the Green Free Port creating large numbers of jobs in the Highland, there is a critical housing demand expected in the Highland. The objective of this project is to create both environmentally and socially regenerative communities in Invergordon, one of the most significant towns in the Cromarty Firth region. The project dealt with both urban and building design issues. It emphasises the use of locally sourced materials such as Scottish timber to realise architecture projects through creating a series of well connected, interacting public and private spaces and carefully designed details. Communications and interaction between neighbours are encouraged in the shared spaces hereby boosting the sense of community.
