ClydeBUILT: The School of Just Architecture // Inverkip Power Station

Located on the site of the former Inverkip Power Station, the scheme challenges the concept of liveness and community involvement within architecture in the context of the global climate emergency and the need for collective responsibility. It then recognises the parallel between education and practice and offers a scenario where the former becomes fully emancipated in order to challenge any ethical shortcomings within the industry.

ClydeBUILTs mission therefore is to provide the conditions for change.

The school reintroduces craftspeople and architects within its programme allowing for an inclusive and democratic conversation around shared values to take place that would aid the collective transition towards a Just Future.
